Mabuhay!

Do you remember the old Blanco Place in Salcedo Village? It's now been renovated to the new Picasso Boutique Service Residences. Unlike other condotels, the Picasso has it's own food and beverage department. Their restaurant is called Brasserie Boheme By The Gustavian. At night, this place transforms to a resto/bar with lots of foreigners, call center execs, and Salcedo Village residents hanging out for dinner and late night cocktails.

Tom and I tried their breakfast last week and it was pretty good. So if you're itching for a new place to have brunch, visit Brasserie Boheme By The Gustavian.

Brasserie Boheme By The Gustavian is located at 119 LP Leviste St. Salcedo Village, Makati. They open from 6am-12mn. For reservations, call 403.4774/828.1506

Bright interiors and lots of light pouring in. The couches are comfy and since it's a new place it's clean and smells "new".

Ála crate menu

Breakfast buffet menu (P390 + service charge). Here's what's included in the buffet:

Assorted starters and desserts

Bowl of fresh fruits

Assorted muffins and croissants

Danish pastry and ensaymada

Bottomless coffee

A choice of your main breakfast. I had the eggs benedict (2 eggs and 2 slices of ham) and it came with herbed hash browns, mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and the biggest English muffin I've had!

Tip: From now on, I order my hollandaise sauce on the side. This way, I have control on how much I want on my eggs benedict and if it taste vinegary, I can have it sent back and have it prepare differently instead of being stuck with sour sauce on my eggs.

The perfect bite. The eggs benedict was OK. The portions were big so it's very filling. Next time, I'll try the bangers and eggs or their Lucban longganisa.

This is good! The shrooms were my favorite and this is the first time I've had herbed-flavored hash browns. Personally, I like it.

Tom had the bacon and eggs dish. It was served with toasted wheat pandesal, grilled tomatoes, herbed hash browns and sauted mushrooms.
His verdict: "It's OK. I'm just glad there's a new place we can have brunch in."

When you visit to Brasserie Boheme, say "hi" to their manager, Christian! Tom and I knew him when he was still working for the Makati Shangri-la Hotel.

P849+ for 2 breakfast buffet—not bad.
Tip: If you don't drink coffee and you could do without any breakfast starters and dessert, stick to the ála carte menu. But if you're like Tom who needs 2-3 cups of coffee in the morning, fruits and cereals, the breakfast buffet is for you.

The Brasseri Boheme also has a small deli and...

A bakery. Try their whole wheat bread, it's pretty good.

Just beside Brasserie Boheme is the new Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences. From outside, the lobby looks more like an art gallery than a reception area.

I love the mirror effect of the black and white tiles on the ceiling and floor.

I have a thing for nooks. Picasso's reception nook is colorful and spacious.

The elevator details look more Mondrian than Picasso.

Love the high ceiling and marble floors of Picasso.

Modern Mondrian-esque reception

I'm glad I bumped into Picasso's General Manager, Mr. Chad Davis. Tom and I also knew Mr. Davis from Makati Shangri-la Hotel. He's a super nice guy!

The food was great actually. There were 4 dishes for the dinner Menu set- dory, turkey, pork and cordon bleu. Everything with a side dish of either mashed potato, fries or rice. I had turkey and it was really delicious :) Big serving, nakakabusog talaga. The downside is that the desserts are not so appetizing, halatang hindi ineffort, then service is really slow. Like main dish was served after 30 mins pa. But I do understand that it's still a trial opening, baka kaya ganun :) 5 stars for the food talaga :)

i passed by this place a week ago and was really curious to try so i googled and found your blog. we had dinner tonight there for our 8th year anniv. enjoyed the food ( i forgot the name).. but was a rendition of a chuchal burger steak with sunny side up egg on top and a bed of mashed potatoes under with a siding of zuchinni and redbell peppers to take out the umay factor. had cobbler salad which looked like it was so small but really good and was just the right serving (the bacon is really goood) and chocolate cake after. the chocolate cake, i was a bit surprised because i was expecting cake but it was actually chocolate mousse.. which had a weird texture to it...not the smooth one kinda grainy but worked well with the italian cabernet sauvignon bottle my lover and i shared. all in all, it was a great prixe fixe meal .. sulit! (especially since it was my treat!:P) the only downside is that there were so many waitresses..medyo annoying to have them ask you every now and then.. and foreigners who wanted to be seated as far away from the smoke as possible (we were outside smoking for dessert and finishing the wine) but sat in the smoking area. haller.

Congratulations on your 8th anniversary!

What you ordered sounds yummy! I have yet to try having lunch and dinner at Brasserie Boheme. I'll blog about it as soon as I do.

Thanks!
